I thought it was high time for some knitting pictures. I started learning to knit about a month ago, this is my progress so far. Bobbie is quite pleased with how I'm doing so far. As you can see its not very pretty, yet.

If you take a close look at the beginning you will see twisted stitches, mind you I wasn't doing that on intentionally. Not to mention accidentally knitting both the back and front of the stitches what a mess. Don't ask me how I did that!

Now it's the top part that I'm really happy
about, it looks like some real knitting. Yipeeeeee!
My tension is still all over the place, that will just take some practice.

I all so have a short row scarf going on one of my looms. I need to get this one done because there is another project lined up for the loom.

New Toy!

This afternoon I made a trip to Lowe's to get the parts for my light tent, and with a little help form my Dad, it's together.

A few pieces of PVC pipe along with some fittings, glue, lights, an old piece of white sheet and some poster board. See, now I have a tool that will come in very handy, but really, it feels more like a new toy!

One of my orchid babies is in bloom so it made a very good test subject. First with the white background.

Now with the black background.

Photo's

Bobbie Says that I have"mad camera skillz", I don't know about that but I do try. Today I'll post some of my favorites
that I've take over the last couple of years. This one was taken at the Chinese Garden.

This next one is of a clematis that didn't turn as well as I would have liked, so I played around
with it in photoshop and came up wit this. Way cool if you ask me.

This is one of the stone stairways at the Japanese Garden.
My camera has a black and white setting that is a lot of fun to play around with.

First Post

How on earth did I get myself into this?

Well it all started with a trip down town to see the Yarn Harlot in person. That is where I saw this beautiful shawl, that of course, just had to be slipped around my shoulders. I held out my arm , thinking, I have to learn to knit so I can make one of these. She called it an Argosy, but could not remember the name of the yarn, so she gave me her card with her web address written on the back.

I went back to my seat, where the lady next to me struck up a conversation. I don't remember her name, but I'll never forget what she said to me. She asked if I knit, I said that I crochet and loom knit , but wanted to learn how to needle knit. I told her about my plans to take a class at one of the LYS. This is what I'll never forget, "Look around at all these knitters, one of then would be willing to teach you"she said. I froze, I'm a rather shy person, and the thought of asking some one to teach me was too much!

The next day I looked up the blog address that on the back of the business card that had been given to me. I ended up leaving a couple of comments, she e-mail me back thanking me for leaving a comment. Two or three days later I e-mailed her with an innocent little question. What size needles are best for a beginner to learn on? Next thing I knew Bobbie, of Tiggywinkle Knits, was offering to teach me to knit.

So there you have it, How I got myself in to this.
